After a few years of wordpress and the vSlider theme, I’ve decided that it was time to upgrade ryanbarr.com and relaunch the site. The majority of the content has been Stocks, Options, Futures, Economics and other random thoughts from my brain, so that is now the focus of the site.
Every now and again we’ll post some stuff regarding our family, but it will not be the norm. The new site runs using a very nice, very configurable wordpress theme. It is a very simple to use theme, and quite powerful. The theme is called Thesis and so far I ahve been very, very impressed.
The site can easily be adjusted to a 1, 2 or 3 column layout. The framework behind Thesis is fantastic, and it is extremely configurable. I haven’t done a bunch of customization, and I think that speaks volumes for the theme itself. I was litterally able to upload, activate, configure and go live. That simple. All of my existing stuff plugs right in and it was a quick setup.
I’m sure I’ll be making a few tweaks now and again. I’ll post some of that stuff here as well. Anyhow, if your serious about blogging, and serious about Wordpress – I would recommend at a minimum that you give Thesis a look.
