August is in the bank. Today I closed out each of the papermoney August positions to lock in our profits and begin the September cycle. Currently the account has a balance of $96,983.80 – not to shabby after taking it in the shorts our first month! By the end of September we should be back into the black and moving forward with nice profits. Today I closed the RUT position for a $0.7 debit and the SPX position for a $0.16 debit. It cost about $1260 to take the risk off the table, and I’m okay with that. We will roll forward into September, and not be exposed to any dramatic market movements that could hurt our portfolio. I’ll be looking to open September positions in both the RUT and SPX, keep an eye out, they will likely happen today or tomorrow. The full details of the closing trades are in the portfolio section. Good luck, and trade smart!
