« another good day in the options market
new march rut position »

what’s new in our world?

Posted on February 18, 2006 at 10:43 pm         By Megan in Barr Family Blog

It’s been one heck of a year! Since Meg and I have been so horrible with adding information to the site for the last, say… four years, I figured it was time to add a bit of an update. This will be the quick and dirty version. More to come on these subjects as the days move on, I’m sure.

Okay - lets start with jobs/business. Meg is no longer teaching. Instead she has started two small businesses. The first, Footprint Fitness, offers the Stroller Strides program to folks in the Modesto area. The program is great for moms and their babies and is really starting to take off! Her next venture into the world of business is as an Educational Consultant for Discovery Toys. She loves the toys, loves the business’s and is doing very well!

As for me, well, I’ve left the IS(computer geek) ranks and have moved into finance - still at E & J Gallo Winery. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not flexing my business muscles elsewhere! I’ve been doing a lot of option investing, and am actively involved in quite a few other investment opportunities.

Kids… Well now that’s a really, really long story! Basically, we are trying and haven’t had much good luck so far. We have lost two (or three?) children over the past year, and are on hold by Doctor’s orders until sometime later this year. I’m sure we will both be writing about that as the year goes on, so keep an eye out!

Other stuff - Well we still have the dogs, Toby and Nikki, and Megan’s bunny Smudge. We are still in our very first house and we are busier than ever! We are actively involved in our church, both in ministry and small groups.

Okay, that’s enough for now. More to follow… Thanks!
