ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three… july!

Posted on May 12, 2006 at 8:10 pm         By Megan in Barr Family Blog

Finally! After losing our first two children in 2005, Megan and I have received the tentative go ahead to try and start having a family again! For those that are not aware of what has happened, I’ll give a brief recap. Basically, in Feb 2005 we got pregnant with our first and were quite exited to become new parents. We waited patiently to find out how things were going at an about 9 weeks, we found out that our beautiful baby wasn’t going to make it. The doctor said we had experienced a “blighted ovum”. After a quick break, we were at it again and had the good news that we were pregnant again! We waited for our first sonogram, and the news wasn’t so good. Things seemed to look odd and the doctor wanted to do some more tests; we did and after getting the results we found our that we had lost another one. Per the doctors recommendation, Megan went back under the knife for a D&C. The pathology results showed that our second (and possibly third) baby(ies) were lost due to a condition called a Molar pregnancy. As a result, we were put on hold and Megan has been getting tested every month to make sure this mole doesn’t come back.

The whole thing has been challenging for us, but we know that it is in God’s hands. Just a few days ago, we had another appointment with the Doctors, pending a few more “negative” tests, we are cleared for take off in July! This is great news. We are praying that over the next few months God will prepare Megan’s body to successfully carry our third baby to term, and that we will be able to enjoy this one for a while on earth :) Hopefully, we’ll be posting great stories on the web site in the next few months about an end of 2006 pregnancy. Until then, thanks for your prayers and wish us luck!
