We celebrated a couple of milestones today… The first one is that I’ve successfully made it to 15 weeks with this pregnancy. The second is that we had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon and got to listen to our little apple’s heartbeat! (According to BabyCenter.com, our little one is now about the size of an apple… 4 inches from crown to rump.) The heartbeat is strong, and beating at a “very normal” 150 beats per minute. It sounds kinda like a train going over the tracks. ![]()
Although I was disappointed that we didn’t have another ultrasound done (I’ve been very spoiled up till now), I was VERY relieved to know that everything’s still going as it should. I’ll visit the lab (which has become a very familiar place over the last three years) next week to have blood drawn for the AFP test which can determine if there may be birth defects like Spina Bifida and Downs Syndrome. Then we have an ultrasound scheduled for May 13th. As long as Baby cooperates, we should be able to see if we’re having a boy or a girl at that time.
